Neighborhood Email Becomes Delivra
"In just over five years, we've seen dramatic shifts in our business," said Neil Berman, president/CEO of Delivra, Indianapolis. "Internet commerce has changed from being a novelty to becoming a critical tool for most companies."
When the company chose its name five years ago, the Internet was "relatively new" and people were intimidated by technology, Berman said. So "Neighborhood Email" positioned itself as a company with "friendly people" who would help businesses build an online community, he said.
The name Delivra better reflects the company's current role: managing its data center and ensuring that businesses' e-mail gets delivered.
"Companies don't want to get blacklisted, tripped up by spam filters or run afoul of the federal CAN-SPAM law," Berman said.
Delivra also has more global customers, through its network of partners along with sending and tracking e-mails from its own data center.
"Within the past year, Delivra has opened three regional offices, with more on the way," the firm said. "The company is no longer a 'neighborhood' kind of business."
