Naviant Obtains WiredEmpire

Marketing Services Group Inc., New York, has sold subsidiary e-mail technology firm WiredEmpire to Naviant Marketing Solutions Inc., a database marketing firm based in Newtown Square, PA.

"We wanted to make sure that our clients will be properly serviced, and we found an environment where they will," said Jeremy Barbera, chairman/CEO of MSGi. "Obviously that leaves tremendous opportunities for MSGi and Naviant to continue working with each other, which I totally expect us to do."

Barbera said the entire technology team from WiredEmpire has joined Naviant in its Boston-area office.

With prospects for WiredEmpire's profitability looking weak, MSGi closed the firm in September with the intention of selling its assets.

Barbera would not comment on the terms of the sale.
