National TechTeam, Global One Launch EU Call Center
The commission is providing the service also under a five-year contract for Global One's call center services.
TechTeam is providing staff and management, facilities and Web-based applications and technology for the call center, which will provide information about the European Union to its citizens.
The center will operate in 11 languages. All of its agents are fluent in English and at least two other languages.
The call center, which is based in Brussels, Belgium, is expected to handle 25,000 inquiries a month initially. Inquiries can be made by toll free phone call, e-mail, Web-based form, fax or letter.
The media across Europe will begin promoting the call center's services at the end of this month.
