National Geographic Enters Booming Custom Pub Market

The National Geographic Society and customer publisher Magazine Group formed an alliance to create socially responsible communications for companies and institutions.


Called GeoGroup Media, the Washington-based joint venture targets the automotive, environmental, pharmaceutical, packaged goods and energy industries for publications that promote corporate social responsibility.


The National Geographic, Washington, D.C., publishes magazines and books, runs Web sites and television channels and produces videos, DVDs, maps and TV and radio programs. The Magazine Group, also in the District of Columbia, creates custom publications for 65 organizations.
