Napster Names Winstar Interactive its National Ads Sales Rep

Music subscription provider Napster LLC said online ad seller Winstar Interactive, the New York division of Interep Interactive, is now its exclusive ad sales representative.

Napster.com has 3 million unique visitors a month and reported revenue of $28.1 million for its most recent quarter, a 34 percent increase from last year. As of June 30, the company had a base of 512,000 subscribers.

Napstar video inventory will be available on Winstar's recently launched online video ad network, Interactive Video Network.

The online music seller recently partnered with SunCom Wireless, Charlotte, NC, to offer over-the-air downloads to handsets and dual-delivery to PCs.

The program, called Napster Mobile, rolled out in the Southeast United States and is supported by marketing from SunCom.

Winstar also recently added mapmaker Rand McNally and baby boomer Web site ThirdAge.com to its portfolio. Both Web sites boast more than 20 million page views a month.
