Multimedia Expands Call Center for New Business

Multimedia Tutorial Services Inc., a telemarketing outsourcer, will expand its New York call center operations because of an increase in business from its principal account, the company said yesterday.

The agency will expand its call center in Brooklyn by 40 employees. The center employs about 85 people.

Multimedia Tutorial Services said it had been in discussions with its primary account and expected an increase in its teleservices business over the next several weeks. The company declined to identify the account.

With the increased business, as well as other unspecified telemarketing clients added recently, Multimedia expects higher monthly revenue, the company said.

The company, which began as a direct marketer of educational aids, offers its call center for outsourced teleservices to supplement its income. Multimedia's client list includes telecommunications providers IDT Corp. and Net2Phone, both of Newark, NJ; Viatel, New York, another telecommunications company; and Sylmark, Los Angeles, a direct response marketing firm.
