Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has signed on to become the first and exclusive retail sponsor for Nickelodeon's annual TV awards show for the top entertainment picks chosen by kids. This year's show airs on March 31.

In addition to ads appearing on Nickelodeon this month and through mid-April, Wal-Mart will sponsor a new category at this year's show: the Favorite DVD category.

Wal-Mart, Bentonville, AR, and Nickelodeon, New York, have also created a promotional Web site, www.nick.com/walmart, where kids can vote for the favorite movie DVD. Wal-Mart character elves Wally and Marty host the site, showing visitors how to vote and share their vote with friends. Visitors also can see how others kids around the country are voting minute by minute. The favorite DVD will be unveiled on the site March 31.

In stores, Wal-Mart will feature exclusive products and a designated Kids' Choice Awards display. The exclusive products will include the new Nickelodeon Kids' Choice, Vol. 3 CD, featuring songs by Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood and Alicia Keys.
