The companies will jointly deliver platform enhancements and complementary service accelerators focused on technology and industry deployment scenarios.

Microsoft is increasing investments in Commerce Server, the company's leading server for creating e-commerce services. It offers the ability to integrate with internal and partner applications, manage and share business data, provide customers and partners with Web-based, self-service through access to order status and inventory availability and exchange, and aggregate product catalog information across a business and from trading partners.

"Customers can expect to benefit from the combined value of Microsoft's expertise in building leading enterprise platform and Cactus's industry-specific solutions and deep knowledge of customer needs, product customizations and service integration," said Jean-Yves Martineau, founder/CTO of Cactus Commerce, Ottawa, Canada, in a statement.
