L.L. Bean Chooses Engage Software to Support Catalog Production

Interactive media company Engage Inc. said yesterday that outdoor retailer L.L. Bean Inc. will use its enterprise marketing software as a single repository for all digital files associated with its L.L. Bean print and online catalogs.

The retailer will use the Andover, MA, company's software to store the graphics, images, text and PDF files for its catalogs in one location, which will let L.L. Bean's 200 system users easily search and retrieve information.

In addition to information from current catalogs, L.L. Bean intends to incorporate files from previous catalogs into the database.

"As a multichannel retailer, the way we manage creative assets across our print and online catalog businesses has a direct impact on how well we interact with our customers," said Lisa Plummer, L.L. Bean's director of creative operations.

"Once implemented, the single repository made possible through Engage's software will allow us to store and retrieve our digital assets and will provide work flow tools that automate catalog production and increase efficiencies," she said.
