JC Penney Names Spokeswoman for Home Collection Brand

Chris Madden, host of the HGTV show "Interiors By Design" and author of 15 design and lifestyle books, has agreed to be the national spokeswoman for the JC Penney Home Collection brand.

The Chris Madden brand has appeared during the past five years on more than 200 products, including furniture, rugs, throws, pillows, candles and decorative accessories.

"Appearing in TV commercials is something that is being discussed, but it's not the focus of this," said JC Penney spokesperson Quinton Crenshaw. "There are some plans and opportunities down the road that would involve interviews with the media. She will work with the product teams at JC Penney on the design efforts and throwing her expertise into what is put into the stores. As early as fall, we should see some of Chris Madden's influence in some of the product categories, including furniture, windows, lamps, bed and bath, housewares and bridal gifts."
