Pet product e-tailer 1-800-PetMeds launched a personalized e-mail campaign aimed at dog owners that was engaging and informative to the point that I seriously considered switching brands, writes senior editor Kristen Bremner.


The subject line of the message I received yesterday asked, "Is Moby eating the best food?" The body of the e-mail was a promotion for Azmira dog food and went on to pose a call to action that said, "We challenge you to find a healthier dog food for your pug."


My first thought was that shipping dog food would not be economically feesible, but the body of the e-mail also had a free shipping offer on orders of $39 or more. Upon clicking through to find out more about the product, the site answered all of my questions. Visit http://blog.dmnews.com for more.
