Catalog and direct marketing company Concepts Direct Inc., Longmont, CO announced yesterday its plans to purchase The Music Stand, a twenty year old catalog marketer of music-related collectibles, awards and assorted gifts.

Commenting on the transaction, Concepts Direct's Phil Wiland, chairman/CEO expressed to DM News how well The Music Stand would fit within the company's existing operational structure. He also noted that Concepts Direct's customer base would likely have a considerable affinity for the merchandise offered in The Music Stand catalog.

"We were actually planning on launching a new music-oriented catalog, but then The Music Stand opportunity came along and greatly interested us rather than starting from scratch," Wiland said.

Wiland said the company hopes to incorporate all operational aspects of The Music Stand catalog including merchandising, marketing, customer service and fulfillment into its Longmont facility.

Concepts Direct, Inc. primarily sells merchandise in the United States through its Colorful Images, Linda Anderson, SnoopyTM, etc. and Linda Anderson's Collectibles catalogs. Time tables and financial information related to the proposed purchase were not released.
