Cable's Big Book Gets Bigger
The catalog includes 25,000 products from more than 200 vendors. It features charts, technical specifications, informational abstracts and a glossary of industry terms and definitions. The 15,000 circulation mixes customers and prospects.
"The main two groups we focus on are the cable TV and satellite industries," salesman Stuart Lindsay said. "We sell installation materials to both industries."
Products include cable connectors and splitters.
"We don't just hit the purchasing people," he said. "We also hit the technicians and engineers -- everybody who would buy and recommend [our products]. But our main target audience is installers, and we've added a large security section. Those products include cameras, digital video recorders, video amplifiers as well as housings and mountings for cameras."
The current version of the catalog may not remain the company's largest for long.
"The next version will come out in November," Lindsay said. "We're going to probably make it bigger and add things as needed."
