Cabela's Picks Evant Solutions

Cabela's will implement two solutions from Evant, the San Francisco-based provider of planning, replenishment and enterprise management software said yesterday.

Outdoors outfitter Cabela's, Sidney, NE, which has 11 stores and publishes more than 60 catalogs, plans to employ Evant Replenishment and Evant Catalog Planning to optimize inventory and service levels.

"In the past, we had in-stock issues and missed sales opportunities due to disconnects between our stores and our distribution centers," Angelo Sakis, Cabela's vice president of inventory planning & purchasing, said in a statement.

Evant Replenishment will create a centralized process for managing inventory information, replenishing stores and fulfilling catalog and Internet orders, Sakis said. The company expects to reduce the inventory needed to maintain excellent customer service, reduce the cost of goods sold and maximize profitability.

Cabela's will use Evant Catalog Planning to plan and manage assortments for its catalogs, which are distributed to 100 million consumers annually.
