MSGI's Pegasus Sets Internet Stage for Broadway Producer

Pegasus Internet Inc., the integrated marketing and Internet services arm of Marketing Services Group Inc., New York, has formed an alliance with Cameron Mackintosh, a leading Broadway production company, to help the entertainment leader develop extended Internet applications for its business operations.


"We will be advising Cameron Mackintosh and providing a set of content management tools to help them better operate their sites and reduce their maintenance costs by at least half," said Nicole Hudson, director of marketing at Pegasus.


Hudson said the company will help the Broadway giant manage its Web sites inhouse.


Cameron Mackintosh produces all U.S. Broadway and touring productions of Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon and Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake.


The company's Cameron Macintosh Ltd. in London produces all European West End and touring productions for the same shows plus Oliver, Martin Guerre and Oklahoma. Cameron Mackintosh Pty. in Australia handles some of the same shows plus the Broadway production Rent.


Pegasus will help coordinate a more efficient Web presence for its Les Miserables production, which includes maintaining password-protected interfacing for employees and performers who use the site on the road for accessing dates and obtaining press releases. And Hudson said that Pegasus will probably build a similar system for the Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon sites as well. She also indicated that they might build an intranet for linking Cameron Mackintosh's offices in New York, London and Australia, which could significantly help manage company information between its locations and assist the company in the gathering and sharing of marketing information such as the 80,000 and 100,000 hits that the Les Miserables' show garners each month as well as the Phantom of the Opera's 200,000 click-throughs.
