MovieTickets.com Is Wild About Harry

MovieTickets.com has sold $1 million in advance theater tickets for the much-anticipated debut of the Harry Potter movie Friday.

The company began selling advance tickets to "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" on Oct. 31. These tickets caused a substantial increase in MovieTickets.com sales, even considering the record weekend the company had Nov. 2 during the release of the Disney animated feature "Monsters Inc.," said Mitchell Rubenstein, CEO of MovieTickets.com, Hollywood, CA.

The success of the Harry Potter movie ticket sales will benefit MovieTickets.com in the future by expanding its customer base and accelerating ticket sales for all movies, Rubenstein said.

MovieTickets.com was launched in May 2000.
