Motricity, Turner renew mobile agreement

A contract renewal was announced yesterday between Motricity, a mobile content services provider, and Turner Broadcasting, a provider of cable programming.

Under the terms of the agreement, Turner will continue to extend its brands, including CNN, TCM and TBS, to a mobile platform, and make programming more interactive for mobile users.

Currently, Motricity's mobile features include live polling applications, text-based campaigns and wallpapers featuring Turner's brands.

"Turner's broad range of mobile offerings is a prime example of a leading television network taking advantage of the many options that mobile brings," said Steve Leonard, general manager of Motricity Off-Deck, in a statement. "They are leveraging mobile to enhance the viewing experience for the audience."

Tamara Franklin, VP of business development at TBS Inc., said in a statement, "Through our partnership with Motricity, we have the ability to interact in real time with our viewers and to connect with them directly to offer a more engaging programming experience."

Motricity's other customers include MTV, AT&T, Sprint and ClearChannel.
