Modeling Will Help Financial Firm Pick Branch Sites

Integras, the new analytical services division of Claritas Inc., San Diego, said yesterday that it signed an agreement with financial holding company Branch Banking & Trust Corp. to provide custom site modeling tools in support of a branch optimization and expansion program this year.

BB&T will use Integras' iMODEL system, a site and market assessment application, to prioritize markets and optimize the number and location of branches within markets.

BB&T, Winston-Salem, NC, plans to build as many as 50 branches this year. It currently operates more than 1,100 banking offices in the Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Indiana and Washington, D.C.

Claritas announced the formation of the Integras division earlier this month.
