Mobile marketing firm MobileLime has merged with interactive grocery shopping firm Cuesol Inc.

The merger will allow the companies to combine MobileLime's mobile and payment platform with Cuesol's range of Web, kiosk and shopping cart solutions.

"Mobile shopping takes it to the next level," said Robert Wesley, president/CEO of MobileLime , Boston. "The ability to understand individual consumer shopping preferences and communicate the right message at the right time to the right individuals thereby encouraging them to shop more often and spend more each visit - and the ability to demonstrate the results to the retailer - is the direct marketing Holy Grail."

MobileLime and Cuesol, Quincy, MA, will keep their respective offices. Mr. Wesley will be the president/CEO of the new company. Customers of the companies include grocers Stop & Shop, Ahold, Giant Eagle and Ukrop's. The launch comes just as the spring season kicks in, according to Mr. Wesley.

"We expect it will be a busy time as spring is an important season for our retailer customers, especially in the colder climates," he said. "People venture out from their homes and workplaces in growing numbers, backyard grills get going, there are a number of holidays, and retailers launching a range of promotions, many of which can be improved by using the mobile channel."
