Mobile Web Site Touts Restaurants, Nightspots

A new location-based mobile Web site promotes restaurants, nightspots, coffee shops and other hangouts to mobile phone users.

Pm32.com, a start-up mobile phone content provider, offers localized text display ads promoting a restaurant's signature dishes and specials as well as Internet coupons and direct offers. The content is updated in real time.

However, the company said it does not send alerts to users' mobile phones.

Users can view local promotions and customize their search. They access the free service via their mobile browsers.

"Most of us wait until the last minute to decide where to go for food, drinks or a night on the town. This is when we're most open to suggestions and promotions," said Jackie To, co-founder of Pm32.com. "Our service helps mobile phone users find the best options in town the moment they make this decision."

Pm32.com encourages user involvement by offering the consumer a percentage of the subscription when a restaurant or nightclub subscribes to the Web site after learning about it from the consumer.
