Rubicon partners with mOcean to bring ad service to mobile

The Rubicon Project, a Web advertising technology company, and mobile ad management platform mOcean Mobile have launched Rubicon's display ad services for mobile devices.

Launched March 8, the mobile platform is available through Rubicon's REVV for Publishers advertising service, a mobile campaign management and optimization tool.

“We want to be able to provide the ad serving that we provide online for publishers on the mobile device,” said Craig Roah, COO and founder of the Rubicon Project. “Our publisher clients have told us that they are looking for a solution to manage their inventory across platforms via one channel.”

Roah would not say which publishers are using the mobile service. Rubicon's publishing industry clients include, Newsweek, and

Rubicon is entering the mobile ad network arena as outside companies are investing more money there. Last November, Google purchased mobile ad network AdMob for $750 million, while Apple bought Quattro Wireless for $250 million in January.

Last July, Forrester Research predicted that mobile ad spending will grow by 27% in the next five years, reaching $1.2 billion.
