Apple makes iTunes songs DRM-free

Share this content:
After the fighting has gone on between record labels and Apple for many years, Apple announced today that they are getting rid of anticopying restrictions on all of its songs. Starting this week Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group will begin selling DRM-free music through iTunes, letting consumers move songs across devices. This new move means that all four major record labels will finally be selling DRM-free songs, as EMI has been doing this already. While labels have avoided DRM-free technologies for the fear of piracy, they have finally seen the light. Being tech forward and offering a user-friendly product is the way to save sales and not alienate the customer.
