Microsoft to Offer Free Internet Service

Microsoft, Seattle, said yesterday it will offer its MSN digital Internet access free for six months to increase membership. The company will offer the sixth month period to customers who sign a one-year contract for $21.95 a month. The offer will end June 30.


The offer will be promoted with a $40 million marketing push, which began earlier this week and will include online advertising and 13 million CD-ROMs with MSN software. The Seattle-based company said it is Microsoft's largest campaign.
