Micron Inks Exclusive Pact With MSDN Online

Micron Electronics, Nampa, ID, a direct marketer of personal computer systems, was selected as the exclusive hardware supplier of the Microsoft Developer Network Online this week. MSDN Online, which recently was merged with the Site Builder Network, offers 2 million Web-site developers worldwide free access to development information from Microsoft.

Both sites had lists of registered users, and a Micron spokeswoman said the company planned to market its products to those lists.

In addition, Micron launched the sponsorship by offering a limited edition Millennia Max desktop computer to developers for $2,000. The 500 MHz computer, which includes the Intel Pentium III processor, is regularly priced at $2,699. The Millenia line, Micron's flagship product, is designed for those who use applications that are rich in sound and graphics. In addition, the offer includes a $500 discount of Microsoft's MSDN Universal, a set of developer tools, which is normally priced at $2,000.

MSDN Online members can order the systems directly through the special MSDN Web site.
