Mezzina Brown Grabs Ad Council Web Account

Mezzina Brown & Partners has been named agency of record for the Ad Council, a private, nonprofit organization that produces public service communications programs.

The New York agency is charged with redesigning the Ad Council's site, at www.adcouncil.org, for a relaunch early next year. The new site will target consumer visitors and will offer news and information for the media.

Working on a pro bono basis, Mezzina Brown won the account after a recommendation by the Ad Council's Internet committee. The budget was not disclosed.

Chief among the improvements on the new site are links, contact information and brief summaries of organizations for which the Ad Council, New York, has created campaigns. The new site also will boast an expanded database for media.

The Ad Council is known for campaigns such as "Take a Bite Out of Crime," "Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Drunk" and "A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Waste". The organization last year received more than $1 billion in donated media time and space.
