Metris to Offer WebMiles MasterCard

Metris Cos. Inc. yesterday said it would launch a new MasterCard affiliated with WebMiles that will allow users to earn frequent-flyer miles for any airline.

The WebMiles MasterCard will allow consumers to earn one mile for every $1 spent using the card and additional miles for spending at WebMiles' online and offline partner companies.

Metris, St. Louis Park, MN, plans to launch the card in June. The direct marketer of credit cards and fee-based services and products said additional details about the card's features, such as its annual interest rate and other terms, would be made public at that time.

WebMiles, Sandy, UT, is a frequent-flyer loyalty program whose retail partners include Toys 'R' Us, JCPenney and several e-commerce companies.
