Metavante Corp., Milwaukee, yesterday purchased NuEdge Systems from Experian, Costa Mesa, CA.

"We signed a definitive letter of agreement with Metavante today," said Don Girard, an Experian spokesman.

NuEdge, Brookfield, WI, provides marketing automation solutions.

Terms were not disclosed, but Girard said "this was an extremely small transaction." He said the deal is subject to the "appropriate federal review and approval on the Metavante side, given their industry."

NuEdge Systems came into being when Retail Target Marketing System and Customer Insight Corporation of Denver merged in March 2000. It was purchased by Experian 1 1/2 years ago and became a division.

Metavante, which is wholly owned by Marshall & Ilsley Corp., offers financial technology solutions that drive customer relationship management, electronic banking, electronic funds transfer and card solutions, electronic presentment and payment, financial technology services, and wealth management.
