MessageMedia to Release New Version of UnityMail

MessageMedia Inc. plans to release an updated version of its UnityMail permission-based e-mail marketing software later this month.

UnityMail 5.0 will offer expanded international language-messaging capabilities and enhanced reporting capabilities. The company said the software allows marketers to build one-to-one relationships with customers and prospects by offering targeting and personalization capabilities.

UnityMail, which is integrated with the marketer's database, distributes e-mail delivery and response-handling tasks to dedicated computers, adding processing power as it is needed, MessageMedia said. The software can handle tasks across multiple servers and processors.

MessageMedia, Louisville, CO, provides permission-based e-mail messaging services and software to marketers, Internet service providers and retailers. In June, DoubleClick Inc. said it would buy MessageMedia for about $41 million in stock. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
