MessageMedia to Offer Veripost Change-of-Address Service

E-mail messaging services provider MessageMedia Inc. said yesterday that it will offer its clients e-mail change-of-address services from Veripost Inc.

Under a partnership agreement with Veripost, Superior, CO-based MessageMedia will provide its clients with permission-based services for updating changed e-mail addresses.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Consumer attrition due to changed e-mail addresses is staggering and can have a substantial impact on marketing effectiveness," said Eric Kirby, president/CEO of Veripost. He estimates that more than 25 percent of all e-mail addresses are changed each year.

Veripost said its change-of-address service lets consumers register their old and new e-mail addresses, which are then available to users' personal contacts looking for their new address. When an inactive e-mail is discovered by marketers or a personal contact, Veripost will either provide a new address or an e-mail request will be submitted for the user's approval
