Meredith Integrated Marketing, the marketing agency arm of Meredith Corp., has promoted Pete Snyder to president of the newly created Emerging Markets Group, effective November 1. He remains CEO of New Media Strategies. The Emerging Markets Group is made up of New Media Strategies and The Hyperfactory, Meredith's social media and mobile divisions, respectively.

“We need to be on the cutting edge of how consumer behavior is changing on emerging platforms and then determine how to build organically or acquire hot new start-ups that fit within that mold,” Snyder said.

Both Snyder and Derrick Handley, CEO of The Hyperfactory, will continue in their current roles, while Snyder will now oversee sales and marketing for the 130 employees of the Emerging Markets Group. He will report to Martin Reidy, president of Meredith Integrated Marketing.
