PCMag to move online

PC Magazine will go all digital beginning in February.

Parent company Ziff Davis Media called the move the “final step in an evolutionary process.” It also announced that the PCMag Network will be renamed PCMag Digital Network with PCMag.com as its lead property.

The final print version of the magazine, which debuted in 1982, will be the January issue.

“Since 2000, online has been the focal point where technology buyers get their information and technology marketers are directing their dollars to drive demand and build their brands,” said CEO Jason Young in a statement. “We have been carefully preparing for this step and are fortunate to have a digital business that has the scale, profit, and opportunity to carry the brand powerfully into the future.”

The company said the PCMag Digital Network, with more than 7 million unique monthly visitors, reaches more than 10 times the circulation of the print publication.

For readers that prefer a traditional magazine feel, a digital version of PCMag will be made available to them.
