MTV Networks buys teen site

Viacom Inc.'s MTV Networks bought, an online user-generated community of teen authors ages 14 and up, marking its first major foray in social media and strengthening its teen site portfolio.

The site at attracts female teenagers who create and share quizzes, fiction, non-fiction, polls, poetry and other content. Gorilla Nation Media LLC sold the site to the Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, New York.

The Jordan, Edmiston Group Inc., a New York media investment bank, represented Gorilla Nation in this deal.
