Former Microsoft executive leads new CondeNet International unit

Former Microsoft executive Stefano Maruzzi has been appointed president of CondeNet International, a new post created to oversee all interactive-media efforts for magazine publisher Conde Nast International.

Based in Milan, Italy, Mr. Maruzzi will supervise Conde Nast International's 58 existing Web sites in 12 countries. He will also lead the development of concepts and products in new markets worldwide and report to Conde Nast International chairman Jonathan Newhouse.

Sarah Chubb is president of CondeNet's U.S. operations.

New York-based Conde Nast publishes Vogue, Vanity, Glamour, Domino and Tatler magazines and the Web site, among others.

Mr. Maruzzi will work closely with the presidents of the different Conde Nast International organizations. In addition, he will serve on the executive committee of Conde Nast International.

An online specialist, Mr. Maruzzi was director of strategy and content-international for MSN, Microsoft's consumer Web portal, since January 2006. He was country manager for MSN in Italy from 2000 to 2006. From 1996 to 1999, he led Mondadori Informatica, the book division of Mondadori, the largest magazine publisher in Italy. He also served as editor of PCWeek in Italy.
