McCormick & Co. names R/GA digital AOR

Food products distributor McCormick & Co. has named R/GA its digital AOR after an RFP process. The agency search took place last fall and involved four agencies, said Laurie Harrsen, director of PR and consumer communications at McCormick.

New York-based R/GA will launch its first campaign for the spices and seasonings company in the second quarter. The hire was effective “within this month,” added Harrsen, who declined to provide the account budget or specifics on the campaign.

R/GA's duties include “everything from innovative platform development, creative and media planning to the iteration and implementation of mobile, social and retail initiatives,” according to a statement from the agency.

Incumbent agency Studiocom did not participate in the RFP process, said Harrsen. Studiocom did not immediately return requests for comment.
