Management at MBS, a division of direct marketing firm World Marketing Inc., has bought out the company's order processing operations.

A newly formed company, Direct Fulfillment Systems, will be headed by two long-time members of MBS' senior management team. Ed Hughes, former EVP of MBS, will serve as president and Rakesh Gilani, former director of application and development will serve as CEO. Direct Fulfillment will establish its own separate environment at the MBS headquarters in Central Islip, NY.

“We really want to concentrate on achieving maximum focus on order processing and fulfillment processes for our clients,” said Hughes.

Direct Fulfillment Services will operate with the same staff as before the split.

MBS currently offers strategic guidance and solutions, database design and maintenance, data processing, address hygiene, e-commerce solutions and e-mail campaign management services across multichannel retail, Internet and catalog sectors. World Marketing Inc. has eight locations across the country. Hughes said that the other locations work more with print-on-demand, mailings and customized print solutions.

According to Hughes, MBS is looking to increase its client base in 2008.
