Maximizer looks internally for new leadership

CRM provider Maximizer Software appointed Vivek Thomas as its new president late last week.

Thomas, who is currently managing director of Maximizer's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) division, will enter his new role on June 1, replacing current president John Caputo. Thomas is expected to bolster the company's mobile CRM efforts — which he has played an essential role in developing — and grow its footprint in the small and midsize business (SMB) space.

“Vivek brings a strong sales background, passion for CRM, awareness of the evolving mobile applications market, and understanding of software business operations,” wrote Angie Hirata, worldwide director of marketing and business development for Maximizer, in an e-mail to DMNews. “His strategic planning, as well as his ability to tactically execute on plans, will enable the company to continue to focus on its vision of helping companies mobilize workers with mobile CRM.”

A Maximizer employee since 2002, Thomas started as director of Americas sales. Today, he oversees all sales marketing, distribution and operations for the EMEA division, which has seen 14% CAGR revenue growth under his two-year leadership.

“As Vivek transitions from the head of EMEA to president of the company, he will have the opportunity to ensure that the whole team, from development to sales to support — is focused on servicing existing customers while also looking to capture this rapidly growing mobile applications market,” Hirata said. “He has the benefit of already having the respect and rapport of the executive team, as well as many staff, to make this a smooth transition onwards and upwards.”

Mike Richardson, head of customer care in EMEA, will replace Thomas as managing director of the division. Caputo, who chose to leave Maximizer for an opportunity in real estate and financing, will remain a strategic corporate advisor to Maximizer. The company did not look externally to fill his role.

Maximizer's client base includes Siemens, HSBC and Lockheed Martin.
