Martha by Mail Introduces marthasflowers.com

Martha by Mail, the catalog business of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc., New York, this week announced its debut of marthasflowers.com, a fresh floral delivery service, promoted through its catalog pages and its Web site, www.marthasflowers.com.

The media company joins a crowded field of competitors such as 1-800-Flowers.com, Calyx & Corrolla and Harry & David in the floral mail-order market. Fresh-cut flowers, including 13 different varieties of roses, can be ordered once or as part of a monthly subscription series with three-, six- and 12-month programs available, akin to Harry and David's original Fruit-of-the-Month Club, the standard bearer for mail-order monthly subscription programs for perishables.
