E-mail marketing company StrongMail has acquired The Email Advisor, an e-mail marketing consulting company that specializes in e-mail strategy and optimization. Deal terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition of The Email Advisor will expand StrongMail's creative and strategic offering, specifically in the consumer packaged goods and travel and hospitality verticals.

"The demand for our Strategic Services has grown exponentially over the past year, and this acquisition of The Email Advisor provides us with additional expertise and resources for enabling our customers to realize the full marketing potential of e-mail and social media," said Sam Cece, CEO of StrongMail, in a statement.

This is the second  acquisition of a e-mail consultancy firm by an ESP in the last couple of months. On October 29, Responsys has acquired digital marketing consultancy Smith-Harmon in a part-cash, part-stock deal.

The Email Advisor is based in St. John, Ind., and StrongMail is based in Redwood City, Calif.
