The Reader's Digest Association Inc., Pleasantville, NY, announced a partnership yesterday with Latin-focused TV producer and packager ECM the Americas LLC to expand Selecciones, its Spanish-language publication, into Selecciones at the Movies.

Selecciones at the Movies will be a series of Spanish-language made-for-television movies to be marketed throughout Latin America and the United States. Sponsorship opportunities will be made available to selected advertisers, according to Reader's Digest.

The first eight scripts for the films were selected from stories out of Selecciones.

Bill Wilson, Chairman of ECM the Americas LLC, will head the marketing effort for the films,

"Selecciones at the Movies should provide advertisers and TV networks throughout the Americas with high ratings and powerful, unique consumer appeal," he said in a statement. "With this level of consumer appeal, advertisers and TV network owners can gain and keep mainstream audiences. Selecciones at the Movies will give our sponsor-partners a chance for an on-and-off-air communication package that will be tough to beat."

Selecciones magazine has a paid circulation of 1.6 million.
