Phar-Mor Seals Online Marketing Pact with Drkoop.com

Drugstore chain Phar-Mor Inc., Youngstown, OH, sealed a marketing agreement with health information site drkoop.com, Austin, TX, that will enable consumers to purchase Phar-Mor products through the drkoop.com Web site and give visitors to the Phar-Mor Web site access to the extensive health information compiled by drkoop.com.


Consumers will be able to link to Phar-Mor's e-commerce site through drkoop.com's Prescription Refills, Drug Interactions, Drug Information and Medicine Cabinet sections. Phar-Mor, which operates a chain of 139 drug stores in 24 states, also will sponsor a monthly e-mail newsletter that will be sent to registered drkoop.com users.


Phar-Mor's online operations include PVSvitamins.com, which offers vitamins and herbal supplements, and CyberRxExpress (cyberrxexpress.com), an online prescription pharmacy that was launched in New Jersey in April and will be rolled out to additional markets. The sites will be united through a superstore Web site, www.shoppharmor.com.


Meanwhile drkoop.com signed agreements with three additional hospitals to provide online content in support of their Web sites, bringing to 123 the number of facilities with which the Internet company has alliances through its Community Partner Program. The new hospitals are located in West Virginia, Washington and Utah.
