News Byte: Saatchi NY CEO Moved Into Global Digital Role

After only 14 months running Saatchi & Saatchi New York, Durk Barnhill is being moved into a corporate role as business development director for global operations. Taking over the New York office is Brent Smart, who had been in charge of the General Mills account since joining Saatchi in 2011.

Barnhill's new charge will be to bulk up Saatchi's digital presence worldwide. A veteran of McCann, Lowe, and Campbell Mithun, his last role before joining Saatchi was as president of Taxi, New York, a small shop known for seeking cross-channel creative solutions. Before Barnhill took over Saatchi New York, it had been run for eight years by Mary Baglivo.

Smart, an Aussie, held managing director roles for BBDO in New Zealand and San Francisco before joining Saatchi.
