Epsilon names new president, chief client officer

Andrew Frawley has been named president of marketing services firm Epsilon, the company said on Feb. 7. Epsilon said it has also named Catherine Lang as its new chief client officer.

In the newly created role, Frawley, who formerly served as Epsilon's president of marketing technology, will continue to oversee Epsilon's database, loyalty and marketing services offerings in addition to his new responsibilities, which include oversight of Epsilon's enterprise sales and marketing, online solutions and corporate strategy and development.

Frawley will continue to report to Bryan Kennedy, Epsilon's CEO.

“Half of the job is running the marketing technology business unit, which is a big part of the Epsilon business  and all of the technology enabled services,” said Frawley. “And the other component is to bring an enterprise focus across sales and marketing and all lines of the business, including agency and data, as well as really looking toward innovation and new channels that are coming out, like mobile, social and online display.

“It's really about concentrating all those efforts to increase the speed, delivery and packaging of these solutions,” he said.

Frawley said hopes to continue Epsilon's “record growth” of the last several years and to accelerate it.

“We crossed the $1 billion mark in revenue and now we'd like to set the mark at $2 billion,” he said.

Lang, who formerly served as COO of Aspen Marketing Services, a marketing agency services division of Epsilon, will take responsibility for the client teams at Aspen Marketing Services and Epsilon Marketing Technology, with the goal of integrating Epsilon's client services and “unifying the vertical industry client sectors” — including telecommunications, retails, b-to-b, nonprofit, insurance and others — across both platforms, according to a statement.

Lang will also report to Kennedy. The COO position will not be re-filled. Pat O'Rahilly, president & CEO of Aspen, will assume Lang's former responsibilities, Kennedy confirmed with Direct Marketing News.

Prior to Epsilon, Frawley was CEO of ClickSquared; CEO of Exchange Applications; and VP of Computer Corporation of America. Lang previously served as CMO at Aspen, before which she has leadership roles at Ameritech, Grainger and MCI.
