DMers Urged to Participate in Employment Survey

Direct marketers are being urged to participate in an upcoming survey on future hiring needs.

"We want to put the call out to direct marketers to participate in this survey because if there's any positive news it could give the industry an important psychological boost," said Jerry Bernhart, president of Bernhart Associates Executive Search, Owatonna, MN, which conducts the quarterly survey on hiring plans.

Companies wishing to participate in the third-quarter DM employment survey should send an e-mail to survey@bernhart.com and put "opt-in" in the subject line. The survey will be e-mailed the week of June 23 and results sent out the week of July 7.

"We're at an important turning point in the economy," Bernhart said. "With war worries behind us, significant fiscal stimulus on the way and key economic indicators showing improvement, there's optimism that improved corporate earnings could mean a more positive hiring picture."

Survey results also will be included in the DMA Statistical Fact Book.
