DM Days Exhibit Sales Manager Parts Ways With DMA

Yvonne Bendinger, exhibit sales manager for the DM Days New York Conference & Expo since 1997, was unable to reach an employment arrangement with the Direct Marketing Association, which recently purchased the show.

Bendinger, acting as an independent contractor through her management firm, International Access Network, indicated that her six-year relationship with DM Days ended last week when she did not sign a new employment agreement offered by the DMA.

Bendinger said she received written assurances from the former chairman of DM Days that her commissions earned to date would be honored by the DMA, but said the DMA -- while verbally agreeing to pay the commissions -- refused to provide written confirmation.

IAM is now available for other assignments, said Bendinger, who added that she wishes the DMA well.
