Direct Media Inc., Greenwich, CT, announced the appointment last week of Larry May as the firm's CEO effective today.

Direct Media founder and chairman David W. Florence has been acting as CEO since the departure of former CEO Jerry Schillinger in October 2001.

"My largest concern and personal challenge these past few years has been to find a new leader that is the right one for our clients and employees," Florence said. "I feel at ease now, since I know that Larry May is that leader."

Florence will continue in his role as chairman while May oversees daily operations.

May is a member of the Direct Media board of directors and president of May Development Services, the fundraising division of the firm. He came to Direct Media in 1991 after 13 years at Walter Karl.

May serves on three advisory boards for the Direct Marketing Association: the Ethical Business Practice Committee, the Non Profit Federation Advisory Board and the Not-for-Profit Segment Advisory Committee.
