Datagence Adds Catalog Overlay to Consumer Database

Datagence Inc., Red Bank, NJ, said yesterday that it has overlaid its Consumer Intelligence Master File with mail-order and catalog-buyer data.


In the process, 80 unique consumer merchandise categories and 76 consumer lifestyle categories were appended to the Datagence file, the firm said. Though the company could not reveal what firm's data were used in the overlay, Datagence claimed that it came from a leading U.S. catalog buyer data source.


The Datagence Consumer Intelligence Master File is made up of 140 million postal addresses for consumers and 80 million e-mail addresses. The names come from Datagence's 350 partners across the business spectrum including retail, newsgroups, game sites and sports sites.
