CP+B buys Texturemedia to boost digital services

Powerhouse advertising agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky (CP+B), which counts Burger King, Coke Zero, Volkswagen and Geek Squad among its clientele, continues to expand with its acquisition of Texturemedia; a Boulder, CO-based digital marketing agency. Terms of the deal, announced June 15, have not been disclosed and representatives from CP+B declined to comment on the price of the buy.

Winston Binch, VP and integrated head of interactive production at CP+B, did, however, comment in an e-mail that the company was “very excited” about the buy.

“With the texturemedia acquisition, we'll further move interactive to the center of our creative and strategic thinking and client offering,” he explained.

CP+B has not traditionally grown by acquisition. Its last buy, made in May 2007 when it purchased consulting firm Radar Communications, was the first in its history.

Texturemedia's pointed tag line “we build brands online” is an encapsulation of the company's mission to assist its clients in leveraging an expansive digital marketing space by creating interactive marketing campaigns and Web technology. In its seven years of digital consulting, digital marketing and Web site redesign and development, Texturemedia has secured a diverse regional and national client base including Wells Fargo, Google, The Denver Art Museum and McGraw-Hill.

CP+B co-chair Alex Bogusky remarked in a statement that the acquisition is “one of the most important steps we've taken in our digital capabilities.” As for what comes next, Bogusky went on to say “the folks at Texturemedia share our vision to take interactive marketing to the next level and we're all excited to get started.”

Texturemedia will operate under the CP+B name, while all 50 of the company's employees will remain on staff and in place at the company's Pearl Street address in Boulder. (Miami-based CP+B also has offices in Boulder). The staff will be integrated within CP+B's interactive and integrated advertising departments as well as within its contact management team, who serve as a liaison between the agency and its clients.

Texturemedia CEO Andrew Davidson will become an account director in content management while company president Ivan Perez-Armenariz will work as an executive integrated producer.
