Who it is: Paul Nobile, Appointed CMO for investment management at BNY Mellon.

What's his role.: He is charged with expanding the investment management franchise globally

Where he was prior: Nobile was most recently CMO at Eaton Vance. Earlier, he led global positioning of the iShares brand for Barclays Global Investors.

Why he was appointed: “Paul has an excellent track record in positioning, activating, and amplifying investment management brands and enhancing distribution efforts globally,” says Global Head of Distribution PeterPaul Pardi.

Who it is: Mark Vena, named CMO at Segway

What's his role: He will oversee corporate marketing functions to maximize the company's brand and reputation for technology innovation.

Where he was prior: Prior to joining Segway, Vena was SVP and GM of the Human Interface Systems Division at Synaptics. He has also held executive roles at Epson, Compaq, Dell, and Alienware

Why he was appointed: “His business, marketing and management expertise in the highly competitive personal computer technology space will be a tremendous asset,” says President Rod Keller.

Who it is: Rob Lynch, appointed CMO and brand president for Arby's

What's his role: Lynch will lead research and development, product innovation, brand marketing and positioning, advertising, and media.

Where he was prior: Lynch previously led development and brand marketing at Taco Bell. Before that, he directed marketing efforts for Heinz's Ore-Ida brand.

Why he was appointed: “Rob's strong track record of success working with customers and franchises and leading the advertising and innovation efforts for billion dollar businesses makes him an ideal addition to our executive management team,” says CEO Paul Brown.

Who it is: Wendy Toth, named CMO of Echelon Corporation.  

What's her role: Toth was hired to ignite interest in Echelon's role in emerging markets and sustain its established Grid business.

Where she was prior: Prior to joining Echelon, she was CMO of Global IP Solutions. Before that, she was the general manager of Web Services for Knight Ridder.

Why she was appointed: “Wendy possesses a strong background in embedded systems as well as an understanding and appreciation for Echelon's vision and plan for the Internet of Things," says CEO Ron Sege.

McDonald's CMO to Depart

McDonald's CMO Neil Golden announced he will leave the company early next year following more than two decades at the company. Golden oversaw growth of the McCafe beverages, as well as the expansion of the Happy Dollar menu. Chief Brand and Strategy Officer Kevin Newell said that the company “will remain confident in the future and direction of our business and our brand.” A replacement has not yet been named.
