Borenstein Group acquires Q2 Marketing

Digital agency The Borenstein Group has acquired Q2 Marketing, a digital and direct marketing shop. 

Borenstein Group will incorporate Q2 into its brand by the end of this week, said Gal Borenstein, founder and CEO of the agency.

The deal will enable the Borenstein Group to offer a full range of healthcare IT and cloud-computing strategic marketing services for its b-to-b and business-to-government clients, said Borenstein.

“Healthcare IT and cloud computing are the two fastest growing segments in IT spending,” he said. “We wanted to get a head start on the competitive terrain.”

Borenstein added that most agencies provide creative or strategic services. But the deal will enable the Fairfax, Va.-based shop to “automate records” so a company can “start the [creative and strategic] conversation from the middle instead of the beginning,” he said.

Borenstein Group will retain Pamela Girardin, founder and president of Springfield, Va.-based Q2, first as a consultant and then in an advisory role, said Borenstein. He declined to provide specifics about the transition.

The acquisition will not result in layoffs, said Borenstein, who declined to disclose the number of employees at each company.

Borenstein Group's client roster includes ADT Security Services, IntelliDyne and Telecommunications Concepts Inc.

Terms of the deal, which closed August 15, were not disclosed.
