Alterian Forms Strategic Partnership With Abacus

Alterian, a provider of analytic technology, is expected to announce today that it is partnering with Abacus, a division of DoubleClick Inc., to create the next generation of data-driven products for Abacus customers.

The Alterian-powered solution will form the basis of Abacus' market research production system.

According to Alterian, Chicago, the new system will allow Abacus to scale its market research production capabilities without adding staff and will provide Abacus customers with a faster turnaround time on market insight report orders.

Market insight reports are based on Abacus' transactional database of more than 1,800 merchants and more than 80 categories. The reports help Abacus clients analyze their customer data and provide benchmarks to their competition and the industry.

The Abacus database of buyer behavior is the largest in the United States. It contains more than 3.5 billion transactions from more than 90 million U.S. households and contains geographic, demographic, lifestyle and behavioral data from catalog, retail, business-to-business, e-commerce and publishing markets.
